Coaching can take on many different forms. Organizationally, it may look dramatically different than personally. Maybe you or your organization already have a plan to get to where you want to be and just need someone to come along side you with fresh eyes, for an outside perspective. Or maybe it’s motivation and basic accountability that is missing from your journey. Perhaps, you are feeling lost or stuck and you don't even know where you want to go, you just know that it's not where you are now. Coaching is distinct from counselling in that it is specifically designed to help you accomplish those goals.
The bottom line is that it is your journey. A coach is there to provide you access to everything they have in pursuit of your goals. While there will be many unique aspects to your coaching relationship, some things are true for all and are helpful to know up front:
